If your luggage is damaged, you must report it before leaving the airport.
Go to the baggage claims office located at the arrivals level, near the baggage carousels. Once there, you must file a damage report, which will be used when you request compensation.
Finally, once your trip is complete, submit your claim on the website under the “contacts and claims” section, click on “submit a claim,” select “After flight,” and click on the “baggage” tab. Important: the damage report you filled out at the counter on the day the damage was discovered must be attached to your claim.
In addition, the report alone is not sufficient to process the claim: you must also provide a number of supporting documents:
- A sworn statement indicating that you do not have baggage insurance
- A repair invoice or a certificate of non-repairability specifying the value
- The invoice for the damaged baggage or its replacement
