Your stay in Haïti will take place in sumptuous surroundings, edged by long expanses of sand one moment, and rugged cliffs the next.

Milot Historic National Park, symbol of Haitian independence

Paragraphes test 1

Haiti's past has been particularly turbulent, as can be seen in the Milot Historic National Park. This land, taken over by colonists in the 17th century, was originally inhabited by indigenous peoples. Subjected to colonial authority, they rose up when the Revolution broke out in France.

The Milot Historic National Park is located in northern Haiti. This vast estate includes the Sans-Souci palace and the Citadelle La Ferrière, both built on the orders of Henri Christophe, who was particularly active in the independence movement. Due to an earthquake, only remnants remain.

Covered in dense nature, Milot National Historic Park is a has prominent historical significance. Its monuments were built by former slaves who ran the French occupier out of Haiti in order to protect themselves from possible retaliation. The site has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1982.
