When passing airport security you must present these in a separate closed transparent plastic bag of approximately 20cm by 20cm, with a maximum tube or bottle volume of 100ml each.
In order to avoid delays at security and to avoid the risk of having your products confiscated before boarding, it is important that you read the following information.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Which flights are affected?
All flights departing from EU airports (including Norway, Iceland and Switzerland) regardless of their destination, including domestic flights, and whatever the nationality of the airline.
Passengers with connecting flights
If your first flight departs from a country of the European Union and your second flight departs from a European airport (including Norway, Iceland and Switzerland): You can make buy products on board or in the airport shops. These will then be secured in a sealed plastic bag.
If you have a further transfer in a country outside the European Union: You must inquire in advance to the airline company if there are any restrictions that will be imposed.
If your first flight departs from a non-European country and your second flight departs from a European airport (including Norway, Iceland and Switzerland): We advise you to place all your liquids before departure in your checked baggage, including those purchased in airport shops outside the European Union; otherwise they will be confiscated at airport security when making your connection, with the exception of those stored in the closed transparent plastic bag of approx. 20 cm
Liquids, mineral water, perfumes, drinks, lotions, creams, shower gels, shampoos, mascara, soups, syrups, toothpaste, liquid soaps, deodorants...
What is the maximum size of each bottle or tube that can be carried on board?
No container may exceed 100ml.
What is the maximum size for the plastic bag?
This transparent plastic bag (such as a freezer bag) should measure approximately 20cm by 20cm. The bag may contain multiple objects, such as tubes, vials, aerosols...
Where do I get a plastic bag?
You can buy this type of plastic bag (freezer bag) in shops and supermarkets. Most European airports also offer bags on site. However, this is a service provided for passengers and not an obligation. It is not guaranteed that these bags are available in all places at all times.
We advise you to make arrangements before departure.
What are the permitted exceptions?
Liquid medicines You can take liquid drugs in the cabin (insulin, syrups, etc.) provided present a certificate or a prescription in your name to the security officers. There are no restrictions for solid medicines (tablets and capsules).
Liquid baby food. There is no restriction for these products. Remember to take containers that can be re-closed: you may indeed be asked to taste these foods!
In general, it is recommended that you place all your liquids in your checked baggage unless the products absolutely necessary during the flight.
If you are traveling without hold luggage and only with cabin baggage, you need to put your liquids in a plastic freezer bag measuring about 20cm x 20cm
Before you leave, be sure to check the list of prohibited items.
Unaccompanied baggage
Unaccompanied baggage must be handed in several hours before departure or the day before, in the freight area, apart from in the case of home collection.
A transportation file will be put together by our partners including several important documents:
- The Air Waybill (AWB number in the format "923 - xxxx xxxx"): This will include the contract of carriage with the company (recto) and terms and conditions on the back (verso). This number will be required on arrival for the collection of goods.
- A declaration of value signed by the person in possession of or person billed for new merchandise.
Our partners will indicate the anticipated delivery time based on availability. Please note that this time is purely indicative: following air travel security regulations, the sending of freight may be delayed (e.g. if the contents display opaque areas during the X-ray scan). Also, we recommend checking with the freight service for receipt of freight before the person receiving the shipment is no longer present.
Upon arrival, the cargo will be placed in storage awaiting collection or delivery. Be aware of storage fees in certain destinations that may occur if your client does not collect his/her package(s) 2 or 3 days after arrival!
Terms of acceptance
PACKAGING
Packages are handled many times during transport, therefore it is very important to ensure that each of your shipments is contained in sufficiently strong and robust packaging to prevent damage.
If your shipments require special packaging, do not hesitate to ask our partners for advice. You will find the contact information in the "FREIGHT" section.
The content declaration allows the company to identify fragile packages and provide the necessary care, so make sure that you provide a complete list all your products so that temperature or handling precautions are taken (fruit and vegetables, fish, glass bottles, etc.)
Because of the need to pass through customs, our partners must be able to access the contents of your shipments (leave a spare key if there is a lock).
INSURANCE
Know that you can also take out ad valorem insurance for the transportation of your unaccompanied baggage in freight (bill mandatory). For shipments with a significant market value, there are specific transport conditions - be sure to inquire in advance (e.g. art, etc.).
CONCEALED HAZARDOUS ITEMS
Please remember that air travel regulations are complex and very strict, so do not hesitate to ask questions on all the conditions of acceptance (quantity limitations/necessary documents/packaging...).
Examples of dangerous goods: aerosols, perfumes, hard liquor, corrosive or flammable liquids, batteries, fireworks, lighter refills, cannisters for camping stoves, gas cylinders, etc.
The passenger is responsible for the contents of his/her luggage. The transport of luggage not belonging to the passenger him/herself that has been accepted from a third party is strictly prohibited.
In the event that the passenger declares to no longer be the owner of his/her luggage, the company reserves the right to refuse carriage (in accordance with the general conditions of carriage and the conditions of the ticket) and engage in legal proceedings against him/her.
The passenger may be asked to attend an inspection of his/her baggage (delayed, checked or unchecked) at the request of customs officers or of any other government official.
